Enabling a Trusted Marine Data Space for Research and Innovation
Enabling a Trusted Marine Data Space for Research and Innovation
NEREIDAS is a national demonstrator project that establishes a trusted marine data space to enable the secure sharing, interoperability, and reuse of heterogeneous oceanographic data. It connects universities, research centers, public administrations, companies, and other data holders to transform fragmented marine observations into actionable knowledge, aligned with European data strategies and standards. By providing common governance, technical services, and semantic interoperability, NEREIDAS facilitates data discovery, visualization, and controlled access across domains and stakeholders.
The project aims to accelerate research, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making in marine and coastal contexts, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean environment. Through open yet secure data exchange mechanisms, NEREIDAS supports scientific excellence, digital transformation, and the blue economy, fostering collaboration while ensuring trust, traceability, and compliance with European data policies promoted by the European Union.
