Biography

Francisco José Cortés Delgado is a computer engineer and AI researcher specializing in AI safety, robustness evaluation, and large language model security. He graduated high school with Honors, earning a scholarship that supported his first year of Computer Engineering studies before completing the degree at the University of Murcia (GPA 8.65/10). His Bachelor’s Thesis on syntactic analysis using large language models received a 10/10 with Honors and the Extraordinary Final Degree Project Award. He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Murcia.

During his studies, he completed an Erasmus stay at Wrocław University of Science and Technology focused on AI, cybersecurity, and distributed systems. He was an AI Research Visitor at IBM Research Europe (Dublin) working on automated red teaming for LLMs. He also completed a research stay at the University of Cambridge (CaMLSys Lab) on agentic approaches to LLM robustness evaluation. At the University of Murcia, he researches federated learning security, privacy-preserving machine learning, and AI-driven vulnerability assessment, and he is co-author of the Springer publication “Enhancing Security and Privacy in Federated Learning for Distributed Systems: The REMINDER Approach” (GIECS 2025), focused on secure and privacy-aware distributed AI architectures. Professionally, he worked as a software engineer at Vodafone, led deep learning initiatives at the startup Bemyvega, and co-founded the award-winning AI education startup MiSintaxis. He holds Cambridge English Advanced C1 (Grade B, score 197), DELF B2 French certification, multiple academic Honors distinctions, and focuses on building secure, trustworthy large-scale AI systems.
