Gabriel López Millán

Biography

Gabriel López Millán is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information and Communications Engineering at the University of Murcia (Spain), specializing in Telematics Engineering.

He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Murcia in 2006, with a dissertation focused on access control infrastructures based on AAA architectures and the use of authorization credentials.

His teaching and research activities are mainly carried out in the areas of network security, Software-Defined Networking (SDN)–based security management, IPsec/TLS, IoT security, Public Key Infrastructures (PKI), and authentication and authorization.

He has participated in several technological standardization efforts, taking part in working groups of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). He is co-author of several international standards, including RFC 9061 (YANG model for SDN-based IPsec flow protection) and RFC 7499 (RADIUS packet fragmentation support).

In addition, he has so far participated in more than 30 national and international research projects and contracts, and teaches in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including coordinating the Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity at the University of Murcia. His scientific output includes publications in indexed international journals and conferences in the fields of computer networking and security.
