Juan Antonio Martínez Navarro

Biography

Juan Antonio Martínez Navarro received the BSc, MSc, and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Murcia (Spain). In 2016, he was awarded a Torres Quevedo postdoctoral grant funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. He is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Information and Communications Engineering at the University of Murcia.

He has also served as Head of the Smart City Office at the City Council of Murcia and Head of R&D and Systems at Odin Solutions S.L. Juan Antonio has been a visiting researcher at NEC Laboratories Europe in Heidelberg, Germany, and UNIBIT in Sofia, Bulgaria.

He served as Rapporteur for WI-007 on Security and Privacy within the ETSI ISG CIM standardization group for NGSI-LD. He is co-author of numerous papers in JCR-indexed journals, book chapters, and international conference papers, and has served on scientific and program committees for multiple IEEE and international conferences.

He has been involved in national and European projects including ARMOUR, IOT@AS, Fed4IoT, IoTCrawler, Smartie, and CARMONY. His research focuses on cybersecurity, access control, pre-authentication, hardware security, and security and privacy management in IoT and distributed environments. He currently teaches Hardware Security and Industrial Cybersecurity in the Master's Degree in Cybersecurity.
