Pedro M. Ruiz

Biography

Computer Engineer and PhD from the University of Murcia. Coordinator of the PhD program in Computer Science and Director of the UMU's ICT Professional Certification Center (CERTIC). He has been a tenured professor at the University of Murcia in the area of Telematics Engineering.

He also served as Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Director of the Department of Information and Communications Engineering, and as the representative of department heads on the University of Murcia's Governing Council.

He has held several research positions: 5 years at Ramon y Cajal, visiting researcher at ICSI UC-Berkeley (15 months), associate researcher at UC-Santa Cruz, visiting researcher at King's College London, and Coordinator of advanced network experiments in the national RedIRIS network.

Principal Investigator on several national and European research projects, he has published over one hundred articles and holds a patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
